Turquoise and Olive Shell Necklace with Sterling Silver Naja Pendant

Turquoise and Olive Shell Necklace with Sterling Silver Naja Pendant

225.00

The striking thing about this necklace is the rich shade of the turquoise... deep, and leaning more towards the greenish end of the spectrum . The small cabachons set into the sterling silver tufa-cast Naja pendant (the type often seen adorning classic "squash blossom" necklaces) match the color of the tabular turquoise beads. Each turquoise bead is separated by several fine olive shell heishi beads. It is strung on braided artificial sinew which, in traditional fashion, is simply tied rather than set with a clasp, which makes changing the length very easy. As currently tied, the necklace measures 16" from the knot to the tip of the pendant, but can be retied so that it hangs up to 20" long. The pendant is made with an "open bail"... meaning the loop which attaches to the necklace has an open end which can be gently pried up so that the pendant may be removed and attached to a different necklace if desired. This is a truly elegant and timeless piece of jewelry, which embodies the spirit of the Land of Enchantment.
