Canyon Road Interior Residential. Project.

Project management for extensive renovations, and sourcing, arranging and installing furnishings and artwork for a historic home on Santa Fe’s famed Canyon Road.

My Home within the historic “El Zaguán” Building on Santa Fe’s Canyon Road. Featured in Jane Smith’s book Santa Fe: Sense of Place. Nearly every wall or sculptural art piece was made by me. Large-scale prints were, at that time, sold through my boutique print house, Field Studies Editions. The studio space had direct access to Canyon Road, and was often opened on weekends for open studio tours and sales. The large jaguar bench is a vintage piece in the studio is by Mario Lopez Torres. My occupation of this space was part of a 3-year artist residency hosted by the Historic Santa Fe Foundation. Prior to move-in, and with the Foundation’s blessing, I worked on different core aesthetic aspects of the home, such as painting the floors, walls and cabinetry, hanging a floor-to-ceiling track-mounted canvas dropcloth curtain (to hide a storage area) and replacing various light fixtures. The overall aesthetic reflected my interest in local history, architecture, and exhibit design, all reframed in a more contemporary context that was also influenced by the life and work of Mid-Century designer Alexander Girard, who designed the interior of the legendary Compound restaurant, just up the road from my home.

Private Residence project in CT. All furnishings and decor were clients’ own, I assisted with layout and installation to create cohesive “zones” throughout the large, open-concept home.
